What on Earth is a Transformational Product Moonshot?
In September 1962 John F Kennedy told the American people, and the watching world, that the USA would go to the Moon before the end of the decade. It became known as the Moonshot.
I believe in the Moonshot model. Its fixed timeline and clear goal embeds a “do whatever it takes” focus, culture, and energy in major - and often impossible seeming - transformation projects.
Since 2013 I have delivered several Moonshots that have transformed the companies brave enough to commit to them. It’s my favourite way of working, it is what I do best, and it’s highly effective.
Some Moonshots happen because they must.
Transformation is often necessary. It can be required to reverse decline, to mitigate risk, to fix ‘now’ problems or to recover from ‘yesterday’ things.
